GROUP SHOW CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Want to be part of our upcoming art show, embracing the idea of NOSTALGIA: the sentimental longing for the past. We are looking for artwork that illustrates cultural and collective nostalgia. Think of blasts from the past! Think retro, vintage! A favourite toy, cartoons, games, tv shows, books, objects, fashion, music, or even colours that represent your childhood decade! The opening party will also include special music provided by DJ Soandso who will be spinning vinyl including the best tunes from the 70’s, 80’s and maybe some 90’s too!
COME FOR THE ART and MID-WINTER BREAK from all the chaos and embrace your inner child!
We encourage submissions from established artists, emerging artists and artists of all ages in their preferred mediums!
Take a look at the guidelines below and start making some art!
You can work in any medium you choose and any size! We are happy to include functional craft pieces in this show…ie: jewellery, ceramics, textiles, as well as any fun prints, stickers, magnets etc you think could work for the vibe of the show. We are open to making this the most fun for everyone! Get creative!

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
● Works can be any size, however this time of year smaller -mid-sized pieces sell easier however we are not opposed to some larger works as well.
● All works must be for sale, as we are a commercial gallery.
● Please sign your name somewhere on your work (front or back are acceptable) and have a title written on the backside of your work. Please deliver your art ready to display or hang on the wall with hooks, wire etc.
● Submissions must be your own work, new and not previously shown.
● Please no in-person submissions Submit images by email only to: gallery@argylefa.com
o Phone number and email address
o Titles of pieces and materials used to create the work
o Images of each individual piece, in a jpeg format ONLY, titled as indicated below.
● Please title your image files as follows
o Last name, first initial, title of piece, number of submission
o Ex: McGuireC_GreenRoom01.jpg, McGuireC_BlueRoom02.jpg,
McGuireC_PinkRoom03.jpg, McGuireC_OrangeRoom04.jpg,
McGuireC_RedRoom05.jpg
If we select your work(s) you will be notified by phone or email no later than March 3rd but we will attempt to get back to you quicker if possible; especially if you live out of town to allow for delivery of your artwork. Once we inform you that you are IN THE SHOW you can begin to bring in your work in person or by mail. After the show ends, you are responsible for the return of your paintings in person or at your cost if we are shipping back.
PLEASE NOTE
Pieces that are selected for this year’s exhibition will be priced by the artist with the gallery assistance, with standard 50% commission. Please keep this price in mind when creating your pieces.

Argyle Fine Art is always interested in seeing new art from new artists! We're not exactly sure what we're looking for but we'll know it when we see it! So,perhaps you're the artist we've been looking for! If interested in submitting your work via a portfolio please follow the submission recommendations below:

A LINK to your blog or site, or NO MORE THAN 5 images (Jpegs, 300 dpi max) , a flash drive or CD.
Do Not Send Us The Physical Artwork or just SHOW UP with ARTWORK!
Please include information on each work: medium, size and date of completion
Reviews, catalogues, articles, history of sales if any.
